Gliding Wairarapa is known for its excellent reputation teaching young people to fly and so introducing them to a career in aviation at an affordable price.
Students are under very careful dual instruction and usually complete 40 to 60 flights before going solo. Then, once they have completed ten hours solo flight time in a two-seater training glider they can progress to flying cross country, which may involve landing the glider away from the airfield.
Flight training in a glider is a personal challenge that requires great precision and self discipline. The club has trained many successful pilots.
