The Jury Hill Gliding club is at the eastern end of Papawai Road at the south end of Greytown, Wairarapa. The airfield is accessible via the main gate on Tilsons Road.
Directions
Papawai Road joins State Highway 2 near the southern end of Greytown. Drive to the end of Papawai Road, where it forks into Tilsons, Pah and Hecklers Roads.
Follow the “Gliding” sign and go down Tilsons Road (slowly please – we like our neighbours) for 750m until you reach the Soaring Centre entrance. Follow the gravel road until you reach a sign that tells you to stop. There is a mobile number on that sign which should get you through to the launch point operator; tell them that you’re looking to fly with Gliding Wairarapa and they will give you further directions. You may have to wait for a few minutes while launches or landings take place.
Please don’t drive on to the airfield without authorisation. |
